eBPF is a revolutionary technology that allows us to run sandboxed programs in an operating system kernel. To know more about eBPF, please visit
https://ebpf.io/At Walmart, we are developing some of the most exciting and cutting-edge solutions in the realm of eBPF. These solutions are developed under a special open-source project called L3AF. L3AF provides complete life-cycle management of eBPF programs with the help of an advanced control plane that has been written in Golang. Our control plane orchestrates and composes independent eBPF programs across our network infrastructure to solve crucial business problems. Our eBPF programs include load-balancing, rate limiting, traffic mirroring, flow exporter, packet manipulation, performance tuning, and many more.
Our talk will focus on how L3AF offers a cloud and vendor-agnostic platform for launching and managing eBPF programs. In this way, L3AF allows developers to add capabilities to the operating system at runtime. Our vision is to create a marketplace for eBPF programs, where users and developers can share their own signed eBPF programs and download eBPF programs from others. L3AF can then be used to orchestrate and compose selected eBPF programs from the marketplace to several business needs. Additionally, we will provide a live walk-through of how to set up your developer environment to start using and contributing to the L3AF project.
